Happy St. Patrick's Day from Little Eagle Photography! Today, we're embracing the day with a blog post guaranteed to make you feel as lucky as finding a four-leaf clover. I'm excited to share another Content Amelia Shoot featuring Mary and Graham, captured at Fort Clinch State Park on Amelia Island, Florida.
This shoot was inspired by the cozy, nostalgic vibes of classic 90s and early 2000s romantic movies. Think of a modern-day A Walk To Remember or dare I say, Twilight, complete with heartwarming moments, a touch of whimsy, and of course, a lot of green!
Embracing the emerald isle aesthetic
The lowkey theme of the afternoon was green, and Mary and Graham leaned into it perfectly. Mary stunned in a simple green checkered skirt layered with a white sweater. Graham complemented her perfectly with an olive green knitted polo under a tan work jacket and classic jeans. This classic, earthy palette was moody and kept the focus on the storytelling aspect of their session. It also harmonized beautifully with the natural surroundings.
Fort Clinch always provides the ultimate backdrops and is one of my favorite places to shoot at. The fort's grounds are sprawling and lush, with a network of winding trails and ancient live oak trees. The moss-draped branches created a natural canopy of emerald and olive, setting the scene with an inherent sense of romantic mystery.
The art of the "lounge"

The goal for this shoot was for it to feel effortless and intimate, moving away from formal, stiff poses. Mary and Graham were encouraged to act naturally, letting their connection shine through, as we snapped away. The key was finding those quiet moments, often inspired by our favorite films.
One of our favorite locations was a secret trail that opened up and had a fallen tree where Mary and Graham could comfortably lounge. The poses created a cozy intimacy and allowed us to capture some of their favorite interactions: shared laughter, quiet whispers, and gentle smiles.

Fort Clinch: History and whimsy
While the greenery was the main focus of this shoot, the historic elements of Fort Clinch always add unique layers to any session. The stone walls and original structures of the fort provide a stunning contrast to the vibrant flora.
There are so many areas to explore, inside and outside the fort. From entryways and corridors, the worn textures of wood and brick, to the depth and history of it all creating a whimsical aesthetic. These elements ground a shoot, preventing them from feeling overly stylized, and adding an interesting narrative.

St. patrick's day magic
Celebrating St. Patrick's Day isn't just about shamrocks and beer, like with any holiday, it's about appreciating the beauty around us and the connection we share. This shoot was a joyful celebration of love, nature, and the subtle magic that happens when all the elements align.
Mary and Graham brought a natural warmth to the shoot that was palpable. Their connection made capturing these memories easy and incredibly fulfilling. The natural light, the stunning location, and the simple beauty of their interaction made for a truly magical session.
Finding your own inspiration
I hope these images inspire you to look for the "luck" in your own life. Whether it's finding a cozy corner of a park to read a book, enjoy a quiet moment with your loved one, or simply taking a moment to appreciate the natural beauty around you, the little moments of magic are everywhere.
If you're dreaming of a photoshoot that's a bit outside the norm, filled with natural beauty and a touch of nostalgic magic, I'd love to hear from you. At Little Eagle Photography, I am all about telling unique stories through beautiful, authentic images.
Happy St. Patrick's Day to all my followers! May your day be filled with laughter, love, and a little bit of magic!
