The Magic of a Florida Winter
As a wedding photographer close to Fernandina Beach, I am constantly chasing light, but this morning was all about the shadows. The session began in the freezing dark, long before the first light hit the Atlantic. Our models, Nicole and Alex, made the trip up from Tampa to stand in the biting North Florida wind.
While most people think of Florida as a tropical paradise, there is a deep, moody beauty found in our winter coastline. Watching the sky transition from the bruised purple of "blue hour" into the searing, orange glow of "golden hour" provided a backdrop that felt both vast and incredibly intimate.
To elevate the visual narrative, Content Amelia focused on textures that contrasted with the rugged coastline. A story is built on these small, intentional details:
The Florals: Soulshine Floral provided a stunning bouquet and delicate baby’s breath that mimicked the look of sea foam and winter frost. It added a delicate, ethereal layer to the moody beach setting.
The Fur: Because the temperatures were dropping, I brought along a white fur coat for Nicole. It wasn't just a practical choice—it quickly became the "vibe" of the entire shoot. The way the fur caught the wind and reflected the sunrise added a layer of luxury and movement to the visual narrative.
The Collaboration: Working alongside VantagebyVaughn, our content creator, allowed the photographers to focus on the still frames of Nicole & Alex's connection, while the video elements captured the shivers, the laughter, and the quiet whispers in between.
This session marks a beautiful chapter in the Little Eagle Photography story. My vision is centered on more than just "pretty pictures"—I am dedicated to storytelling that feels honest. I want my clients to look at their photos and not just remember what they looked like, but remember how the wind felt and how tightly they held onto their partner for warmth. I lean into the shadows, the wind-blown hair, and the genuine emotions that surface when you’re standing on the edge of the ocean at dawn.
